The motion

That the Parliament welcomes figures from the Campaign for Better Transport, which it considers demonstrate that there has been a 29% increase in passenger numbers on the Virgin Trains service between Glasgow and London since 2012-13; regards the news that almost 2,000 people travel between Glasgow and London on a daily basis, which is up by almost a third in six years, as a positive indication of economic confidence across the UK, and welcomes the investment in the west coast main line, which it considers has made it more attractive for an increasing number of passengers to use it on a regular basis.
