CHAS and the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the formation of a support and palliative care team, which has been established by CHAS and the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow to offer high quality support and palliative care to young people across the west of Scotland who have life-shortening conditions; believes that it will be the first of its kind in the country and will support the children and their families by establishing close relationships with other medical professionals in the hospital and across communities; notes that the partnership will be funded by CHAS and employed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and that the initial team will have a consultant in paediatric medicine, two clinical nurse specialists and an administrator, and wishes the staff well in establishing themselves and undertaking the challenging but vital work ahead of them.
