Maggie's Penguins Nominated at Top Awards
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that the Maggie's Penguin Parade in Dundee has been nominated for a top award; considers that the art trail, made up of 80 five-foot tall penguin statues at locations in and around the city, was a highlight of last summer for locals and visitors alike; acknowledges that it raised £552,000 for Maggie's Dundee cancer centre when the sculptures were auctioned at the V&A in Dundee; understands that the parade has now been shortlisted for the title of Cracking Campaign at the Scottish Charity Awards, while Maggie's is also in the running to be named Charity of the Year, and congratulates all those involved for the success of this project.
