Dr Ken Thomson OBE
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Dr Robert Campbell Kennedy (Ken) Thomson on being appointed an OBE in The Queen’s Birthday Honours 2019 for services to education, economic development and the wider community across the region of Mid-Scotland and the Forth Valley as a whole; recognises that Ken, in his role as principal and chief executive of Forth Valley College, has been instrumental in driving forward its “Making Learning Work” mission statement and ethos; considers that, during his tenure as principal, the college has won several highly regarded awards, including the Association of College’s Beacon Award in 2014 for innovation in further education in addition to the Best Teaching and Learning Initiative award at the TES UK Further Education Awards in 2016, and commends Ken for his sterling and tireless work on behalf of his college, his students and the wider community.
