Project SEARCH, Borders
The motion
That the Parliament commends the recent graduates of the Borders' branch of the international programme, Project SEARCH, which helps young disabled people access education and training that, it is hoped, will eventually lead to work; understands that the branch, which was founded in 2016 operates from Borders General and Community hospitals; notes that it provides students in their final year of high school or college with work experience in a variety of fields, including laundry, general services and radiology; acknowledges that eight interns graduated from the 2019 programme and that they were presented with certificates marking their achievement at a ceremony in the Chaplaincy Centre at the Borders General Hospital, and wishes them, the branch and everyone involved with Project SEARCH, all the best.
