Inveraray and District Pipe Band Crowned World Champions
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Inveraray and District Pipe Band on being crowned World Pipe Band Champions 2019 at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow; understands that this is Inveraray’s second victory in the tournament in three years; acknowledges that the current pipe band was re-formed in 2003 having previously been disbanded in the late 1930s and has won a string of competitions in its relatively short history; recognises that around 8,000 pipers and drummers participated in the 2019 championships, and that 30,000 people attended the event, and wishes Inveraray and District Pipe Band well for future tournaments.
