Thistle For Ever Supporter Ownership Campaign
The motion
That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the unique and much-loved role of Partick Thistle FC as a Glasgow institution since 1876; welcomes the launch of a Thistle For Ever campaign by Partick Thistle supporters aiming to gain majority share ownership for the fans; understands that this would make for a community-owned model for the club which would remove the present uncertainty surrounding the club's ownership, with the group believing this would make for a better long-term future for Partick Thistle; notes and appreciates the positive work that has been done, and is in the process of completion, for community and fan-based ownership models at other Scottish football clubs, including Hearts, Motherwell, St Mirren, Dunfermline and Stirling Albion, and wishes the Thistle For Ever campaign every success in its endeavours to ensure Partick Thistle is a club owned by the fans.
