Callum Bonner's Success at the Trades Olympics
The motion
That the Parliament commends Callum Bonner, who is from Tullibody, on his success representing Team UK at the trades "Olympics", the 2019 WorldSkills Finals, which were held in Russia in August; understands that Callum, who is a painter and decorator for Clackmannanshire Council, was one of the 15 team members to win a medallion of excellence award, which recognises competitors who are considered to have world-class status; acknowledges that the team, which comprised of some of the UK’s top young students and apprentices, also won two gold medals, along with one silver and one bronze; believes that this represents a great success for WorldSkills UK, which selects and trains the team and works to mainstream excellence in education and industry; acknowledges that Callum recently completed his modern apprenticeship at Forth Valley College; congratulates him on his professionalism, integrity and determination to succeed, and wishes Callum and his Team UK colleagues continued success.
