Jemma Reekie Sets New British Indoor Record
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish athlete, Jemma Reekie, on setting a new British indoor 800m record of 1:57.91, winning an invitation women’s race at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow; understands that this beat the previous record of 1:58.43 set by Jenny Meadows in 2010; notes that Jemma’s training partner, Laura Muir, came second in the race with a time of 1:58.44, and commends both athletes for their success and continued contribution to UK athletics.
