Give a Dog a Bone to Open in Alloa
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Give a Dog a Bone is to open a branch in Alloa in March 2020; notes that the charity, which was founded by Louise Russell in 2014 and is already located in Shawlands and Troon, offers a social space that is aimed at tackling isolation among older people, including by providing financial support to over-60s to help them afford a rescue animal, which they can keep as a pet companion; acknowledges that, to assist people with accessibility issues, a stairlift will be installed at the new space, thanks to a grant from the Clothworkers' Association; appreciates that Louise has carried out a number of other volunteering roles in the past, including driving a van for Mary’s Meals, and sends its bests wishes to her and all involved with Give a Dog a Bone.
