Clackmannanshire Citizen & Young Citizen of the Year Award Nominees 2020

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes news that around a dozen individuals and groups have made the finals in the Clackmannanshire Citizen & Young Citizen of the Year Awards 2020, which is sponsored by the Lord Lieutenant’s Trust; understands that these include Stephen Jelfs, for his tireless work in raising community awareness of the importance of installing defibrillators, David Russell for his contribution to the environmental conservation of the local area, and Louise Cannon for taking part in many different local projects, including volunteering at her local library in the Dumyat Centre; acknowledges that Craig Miller has been highlighted for his work in setting up two community choirs and securing £35,000 in funding for projects in Clackmannanshire; notes that Alva Academy’s S6 group was selected for its fundraising for Macmillan and that Alloa Academy’s Anti Bullying Group has also been nominated along with other young individuals within the groups; acknowledges that the announcement of award winners will take place at a ceremony on 10 March, and wishes all those involved the very best of luck at the event.
