That the Parliament notes that World Young Rheumatic Diseases (WORD) Day will take place on 18 March 2020; acknowledges that this annual event aims to raise awareness and knowledge among parents, the medical profession, teachers and the general public about the importance of early diagnosis of rheumatic diseases in young people to help increase levels of early diagnoses and speedy referral to specialised paediatric rheumatologists; understands that the event takes place through the international networks of the Paediatric Rheumatology European Society and the European Network for Children with Arthritis, which seek to improve the level of treatment received by children around the world with such conditions to help improve their prognoses; acknowledges the life-altering, and sometimes debilitating, effect that rheumatic diseases can have on the day-to-day lives of people; commends all involved with WORD Day for their efforts to improve lives, and wishes them continued success.
