Additional Volunteers for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that, in the wake of the success of Volunteering Week from 1 to 7 June 2020, the charity, Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, is looking for additional volunteers to sign up to Scotland’s fight against COVID-19; notes that this will include individuals becoming a Kindness Caller, who will provide regular "kindness" calls and a check-in service for people who are worried, scared or lonely because of self-isolation, a Community Kindness Supporter, who will help with deliveries of shopping and essentials to people in need and dog walking, a Kindness Driver, whose duties will be undertaken in line with government guidelines, and a Digital Kindness Supporter, who will share health messages far and wide; commends the work of Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland, as well as its volunteers, during this time, given that COVID-19 is primarily a respiratory disease, and wishes everyone involved all the very best in their future endeavours.
