The motion

That the Parliament supports Armed Forces' Day 2020, which will be marked on 27 June and will allow people, communities and organisations across the UK to show their support for the men and women who serve in the military along with reservists, veterans and cadets, and those who support them, including their families and forces' charities; acknowledges that the celebrations began on 22 June when the Armed Forces' Day flag was raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country, and that Reserves' Day followed on 24 June; believes that the celebrations provide a much-valued morale boost for the troops and their families and are an excellent opportunity to highlight the invaluable work of those who support them, much of which is often unreported; notes that there are many ways to show support and get involved; encourages people to visit the websites of each of the services to find out more about what the Armed Forces do at home and around the world, and commends the UK's Armed Forces for defending the nation and its interests, and promoting peace, delivering aid and providing domestic and international security.
