Margaret Payne Climbs the Equivalent of Mount Suilven
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Margaret Payne, who is 90 and from Ardvar, on completing her fundraising challenge by climbing the staircase at her home 282 times, the equivalent of climbing the 2,398 ft peak of Suilven; understands that Margaret has now raised over £430,000 so far in donations to support the NHS, NHS Highland, the Highland Hospice and the RNLI; acknowledges the daily support from the New Zealand run "base-camp" in Margaret’s household; celebrates Margaret’s efforts on reaching the pinnacle of success after 12 weeks of climbing, and wishes her the very best for the future.
