Stirling CAB, Investing in Volunteers
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Stirling Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) on receiving a prestigious Investing in Volunteers accreditation award for the second time; understands that this accolade recognises the professionalism of the systems and structures that support its volunteers, who help provide the vital advice service to the citizens of Stirling; commends the organisation for demonstrating good practice in relation to volunteer management and meeting all nine indicators and 46 practices for the award; understands that Stirling is the only CAB in Scotland to achieve this accolade; commends it for providing free, impartial and confidential advice to 7,754 citizens in 2020 on 11,746 different topics throughout the district and generating £1.6 million of income to some of the area's most vulnerable people, which is a return of £20.77 for every pound of local authority investment, and recognises the hard work of all CAB volunteers and staff across the country and the brilliant work that they do in communities.
