Alexander Gillan, Veteran of the Arctic Convoys
The motion
That the Parliament expresses it sadness following the death of Alexander Gillan from Rosyth, at the age of 95; notes that Mr Gillan was a veteran of the Korean War and the Second World War, during which he participated in the Arctic Convoys; further notes that his service overseas was recognised by the Russian Federation, which presented him with the Medal of Ushakov and sent representatives to his funeral, and by the South Korean Government, from whom he received the Ambassador for Peace medal; recognises Mr Gillan's long association with Rosyth Dockyard and the Ex-Servicemen’s Club, and extends condolences to his family and friends.
