Alloa First's Alloa Marketplace Online Initiative
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the news that Alloa First is to launch its brand new online initiative, a virtual Alloa Marketplace; understands that, from 8 March 2021, residents will be able to buy online from Alloa shops in the same way that they can with supermarkets, with early subscribers to their email list, or early responders to their social media, being eligible for a draw for a £100 shopping voucher; acknowledges that Alloa First is a business-led initiative where businesses work together with the sole objective of collectively investing in Alloa town centre; understands that its board of directors consists of local business owners, managers and people with a vested interest in the town centre and, as such, the board members are able to bring an invaluable wealth of knowledge and experience; considers that the crucial benefit of Alloa First is that the goals and actions are set and paid for by the business community, and all investment is spent locally; commends Alloa First for this excellent initiative, as well as its focus on localism and proactivity toward the survival, recovery and further prosperity of Alloa businesses, and wishes everyone involved all the very best in their sterling work for the benefit of Alloa and its surrounding communities.
