Bridge of Allan Primary Achieves Gold Reading Challenge Accreditation

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Bridge of Allan Primary School as one of only two primary schools to recently gain gold accreditation in the First Minister’s Reading Challenge, which has just launched its sixth and final initiative; understands that the Reading Challenge is run by national charity Scottish Book Trust with support from Education Scotland; understands that the initiative is open to all primary and secondary schools as well as community groups and libraries in Scotland and that it aims to build positive reading cultures and improve literacy for young people; notes that the challenge also helps young people to establish regular reading routines and activities as they return to education; acknowledges that academic year 2021-22 will be the final year of the First Minister’s Reading Challenge, and commends Bridge of Allan primary and all the students involved for achieving this outstanding result.
