The motion

That the Parliament sends its congratulations to Nick Gardner on completion of climbing all of Scotland’s 282 Munros, which are mountains over 3000ft; acknowledges the extraordinary achievement of the now 82-year-old in summiting his final Munro, Cairn Gorm, having only started in 2020 after the devastating news of his wife’s Alzheimer’s and osteoporosis diagnosis; recognises the remarkable physical challenge undertaken to summit Scotland’s 282 Munros in such a short space of time; notes the achievement of Nick Gardner in climbing some of the most technically challenging mountains in Britain, the Cuillin Ridge on Skye, on his journey to completing the challenge, and commends his immense contribution to charity, which has totalled £60,000 for Alzheimer Scotland and Royal Osteoporosis Society, which will significantly aid in the future understanding of the conditions.
