Dollar Academy Listed in The Cricketer Magazine's Schools Guide 2023

The motion

That the Parliament welcomes the news that Dollar Academy has been listed in the top 100 Senior Schools amongst the UK's best schools for cricket, in The Cricketer's Schools Guide 2023; notes that the 2022 guide features the top 100 senior, top 50 prep/junior and top 20 all-girls schools for cricket in a 156 page publication; understands that 2023's successful roll call of schools, which features both state-funded and private establishments, was finalised after an exhaustive selection process that saw a huge number submit entries for inclusion in the guide; notes that all entries were then judged against an extensive set of criteria, which included a compelling commitment to cricket in the curriculum, facilities, fixture programmes and coaching; acknowledges that The Cricketer researches and produces the Schools Guide annually, with the 2023 edition being supported by Durant Cricket, one of the country's leading suppliers of cricket ground equipment; recognises Dollar Academy’s focused commitment on the game following the school’s recent partnership with Cricket Scotland to develop as a Performance Pathway Centre for Excellence; notes the content of the Member's previous motion, S6M-02125; acknowledges what it sees as the positive physical, mental and social benefits of sport in schools; congratulates the school on its successful listing in the guide; commends all at Dollar Academy on their sporting focus, and wishes everyone involved, players, coaches and all staff, all the very best in their sterling endeavours.
