Banchory Primary School Awarded Autism Accreditation

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates the pupils and staff of Banchory Primary School on being awarded Autism Accreditation by the National Autistic Society; understands that the accreditation was given in recognition of the school’s good autism practice; recognises the particular strengths of the school in supporting autistic learners, including frequent paired activities and small group work, good use of buddy systems, development of life skills and the use of calm spaces at lunch times; further recognises the work of the staff of Banchory Primary School in achieving this accreditation, including through the design of classrooms to reduce external distractions and provide access to outside space, and commends the pupils and staff for achieving this accreditation and for their work in supporting autistic learners.
