Lucinda Russell Grand National Success
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Kinross-shire trainer Lucinda Russell on training Corach Rambler, winner of the Grand National at Aintree on 15 April 2023; understands that Lucinda trains horses at Arlary House Stables on the outskirts of Milnathort, in the Perthshire South and Kinross-shire constituency, where she has helped produce what it sees as the most successful racing yard in the history of Scottish jump racing; notes that Corach Rambler is the second horse that she has trained to Grand National success, following One For Arthur’s victory in 2017, and that this is only the third Scottish-trained winner in the race’s history; notes her reported comments, made at an event at the stables on 16 April 2023, during which hundreds of local people welcomed the winner home, that “he’s a special horse but this is an extra-special win for all our staff behind the scenes and away from the limelight”; commends Lucinda and her team for this latest victory, and wishes all involved continued success in the future.
