The motion

That the Parliament welcomes that 23 projects in Scotland are to benefit from a share of £2 million of UK Government funding for grassroots sports facilities as part of the UK Government’s ongoing investment in multi-sports facilities, in collaboration with the Scottish Football Association; understands that the 23 chosen sites across Scotland will have their facilities improved to become high-quality facilities for football and other grassroots sports, with almost £90,000 being invested in Glasgow facilities at Nethercraigs Sports Complex, Dennis Donnelly Park and Hillwood Park; believes that the investment will improve access to high-quality sports facilities in local communities, increase participation in grassroots sports, and, in turn, deliver the mental and physical health benefits associated with active lifestyles, and understands that much of the funding will target multi-sport facilities, deprived areas and underrepresented groups, which, it believes, will ensure that as many people as possible across the country can benefit from high quality sports facilities.
