Congratulating Perthshire Butchers on Their Success at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards

The motion

That the Parliament recognises and commends the exemplary craftsmanship and culinary excellence displayed at the recent Scottish Craft Butcher Awards 2023, where over 190 pies from around the country were rigorously tested; extends its heartfelt congratulations to HW Irvine of Perth Street, Blairgowrie, on securing a gold award for its traditional steak pie and a silver award for its steak and wild mushroom pie; congratulates Wendy Donald Family Butcher on Blairgowrie High Street on its silver award-winning traditional steak pie, and James Ewart Ltd of Alyth on its gold award for a traditional steak pie; further congratulates TH Stevenson & Sons in Stanley on its gold award for traditional steak pie and silver award for its steak and kidney pie, as well as DG Lindsay & Son on North Methven Street, Perth on its laudable silver award for a traditional steak pie; considers that the heats, held at Forth Valley College, showcased the richness and diversity of Scotland's culinary traditions, and acknowledges the success of these local businesses.
