Yolanda Gill Receives Best Volunteer in Girls’/Women’s Football Award

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Fair City Junior FC coach, Yolanda Gill, on receiving the award for Best Volunteer in Girls’/Women’s Football at the 2023 SFA and McDonald’s Grassroots Football Awards; understands that the award is to recognise the outstanding work of volunteers in the grassroots football community; considers that the coach showed incredible determination to carry on volunteering in sport, despite having to overcome personal challenges of her own; commends the coach’s commitment to inclusive football and ensuring that girls with additional support needs are adequately supported in the sport, and acknowledges the hard work and dedication of all of Scotland’s football volunteers, who, it believes, are an essential component of success and development in Scotland's national game.
