Congratulating Mid Scotland and Fife-based Bakeries on Winning Accolades at the 2024 World Championship Scotch Pie Awards

That the Parliament congratulates 11 businesses based in the Mid Scotland and Fife region on winning accolades at the recent 2024 World Championship Scotch Pie Awards; understands that four of the winning businesses are based in the Perth and Kinross region, and applauds that James Pirie and Son, of Blairgowrie, was announced as the winner of the competition, making it the World Scotch Pie Champion of 2024; congratulates Sugar and Spice, of Auchterarder, on winning three awards, including gold for its sausage rolls and handheld steak pies, and bronze for its Scotch pies; further congratulates Murrays Bakers, of Perth, which was awarded gold for its apple pie, and Campbell’s Bakery, of Crieff, which clinched silver for its macaroni pie and bronze for its haggis; acknowledges that six Fife-based bakers achieved accolades, and welcomes that Stephens Bakery, Dunfermline, was awarded gold in the macaroni pie category, silver for its steak and haggis pie and bronze for its Scotch pie and apple pie; understands that Stuart’s Bakers and Butchers, Leven, won gold for its macaroni pie and silver in the apple pie category, that Bayne’s the Family Bakers, Lochgelly, achieved bronze for its Scotch pie, bronze for its sausage roll and silver in the bridie category, that Tom Courts Quality Foods Ltd, of Burntisland, won a silver award in the sausage roll category, and that Fisher and Donaldson, Cupar, won silver in the bridie category and bronze for its steak and gravy pie; further understands that W F Stark, Buckhaven, took a silver award in the football pie category for its Scotch pie; recognises that, in the Clackmannanshire area, James Aitken Butchers, of Alloa, won the diamond award and was the overall winner in the sausage roll category, and won silver for its bridie and bronze for its macaroni pie; recognises what it sees as the hard work, dedication and high quality of products produced by these businesses, and commends what it considers to be their broad commitment to local sourcing; praises the competition for its recognition of the people who, it considers, are working tirelessly in these businesses and who are all at the very heart of Scotland's local communities, and extends its very best wishes to all the winners for continued success in the future.
