The motion

That the Parliament sends its congratulations to Lorraine McCall on completion of Scotland's 231 Graham Mountains in a continuous round starting on 16 April and finishing on the iconic Stac Pollaidh on 5 September 2024; understands that the 59 year old, walked, cycled and travelled by boat for the challenge, which took in all of Scotland’s peaks between 600 and 762 metres, with a minimum prominence of 150 metres; notes that the route, included walking 1,500 kilometres and ascending over 120,000 metres, and cycling 4,000 kilometres with 60,000 metres in ascent; acknowledges Lorraine McCall's previous continuous rounds taking in other higher lists, including the Munros and the Corbetts, but understands that despite lower stature, only around 10% of Grahams have clear paths making for more difficult and rough walking, and commends her fundraising for Alzheimer Scotland throughout the challenge, which surpassed her target of £3,000.
