BRAG at 35
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates BRAG Enterprises (originally, the Benarty Regeneration Action Group) on celebrating 35 years of sustainable community impact in the local area; acknowledges the role played in the founding of BRAG by a group of community activists led by local councillors at the time, Joe Paterson and the late Willie Clarke; understands that BRAG was founded in response to the specific social and economic impact that the demise of the coal industry had on the communities of Benarty, Kelty, Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly; commends the organisation on having evolved to reflect the changing needs of the communities it supports and the economic challenges they face, delivering a wide range of services and support to local businesses, families and individuals; believes BRAG to be a wonderful example of community empowerment and locally-led regeneration; congratulates everyone involved with the organisation on this significant milestone, and wishes them continued growth and success into the future.
