Oban Mountain Rescue Team Members Complete Britain’s Most Brutal Race

The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Oban Mountain Rescue Team members Joe Farnell and Chris Davies on their completion of the Montane Winter Spine race, which, it understands, has been dubbed "Britain’s most brutal race"; understands that, in order to complete the race, runners must complete a 268-mile trail from the Peak District to the Scottish Borders, with limited breaks for rest and food; recognises that Chris participated in the southern portion of the race, between Edale in the Peak District to Hawes in North Yorkshire, while Joe completed the northern portion, from Hardraw in North Yorkshire to Kirk Yetholm in the Scottish Borders, and that Joe secured second place overall; notes that Chris and Joe took part in the gruelling race to raise money for the Oban Mountain Rescue Team, raising over £3,600 in donations, and wishes Chris, Joe and all involved with the Oban Mountain Rescue Team well for the future.
