The motion

That the Parliament marks the sad and sudden death of Flight Lieutenant Graham Wilf Taylor; considers that Flt Lt Taylor dedicated his life to public service and volunteering through the Royal Observer Corps (1979-1992), the Royal Auxiliary Air Force (1992-2006), and the Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Cadets (2003-2025); understands that Flt Lt Taylor founded a 38 Detached Flight (DF) RAF Air Cadets in Crieff, which he later led to become a thriving squadron (1743 Sqn) in its own right; considers that thousands of young people have benefited from attending 38DF and 1743 (Crieff) Sqn over the years, attaining qualifications in flying, academics, marksmanship, music, first aid and more, with several cadets joining the regular and reserve arms of His Majesty’s Armed Forces; understands that Flt Lt Taylor was considered to be a pillar of his community through his volunteering with the RAF Air Cadets and as a member of the Board of Directors for Crieff Highland Gathering since 2006, and believes that Flt Lt Taylor’s contribution to community life in Crieff and Strathearn will be sorely missed, particularly by the young people who benefited so significantly from the guidance and help offered by someone who can only be described as an officer and a gentlemen.
