LIAISON COMMITTEE
It was moved by the Lord Chalfont, as an amendment to the motion that the 2nd Report from the Select Committee (HL Paper 67) be agreed to, to leave out all the words after “That” and insert “this House rejects the recommendation of the Liaison Committee and appoints a Select Committee of five members to consider the justification for the finding of those reviewing the conclusions of the RAF Board of Inquiry that both pilots of the Chinook helicopter ZD 576 which crashed on the Mull of Kintyre on 2nd June 1994 were negligent”; which being objected to, the question was put thereupon, and the House divided:
The Contents have it
Majority 26
At a glance The Contents won by a margin of 26 votes. The Government's position was Not Content, and it lost. This was not a whipped vote, so no party line applied.

The party breakdowns are our own analysis of the official voting records (recorded votes only; they do not describe the formal whip). How we work this out.
Peers attend divisions ad hoc, so there is no did-not-vote list. Tellers are counted in the Content and Not Content totals, unlike in the Commons.
Tellers: Baroness Young (Content), Lord Chalfont (Content), Viscount Colville of Culross (Not Content), Lord Wigoder (Not Content).
