It was moved by the Lord Privy Seal (Lord Williams of Mostyn) that this House approves Option 5 (60 per cent appointed/40 per cent elected) in the Report from the Joint Committee on House of Lords Reform; which being objected to, the question was put thereupon, and the House divided:
