Motion · S2M-03575 · 15 Nov 2005
Reality at Work in Scotland
The motion
That the Parliament continues to recognise the contribution that the voluntary sector and social economy makes to Scotland and, in particular, towards fulfilling the Closing the Opportunity Gap objectives; commends the work of organisations such as Reality at Work in Scotland, which works with local authorities and helps them to fulfil their statutory obligations, providing looked-after children with holidays, and urges the Scottish Executive to continue to press towards the practice of full cost recovery in contracting with local authorities, as well as the development of a detailed strategy to provide more stable direct funding for the voluntary sector, particularly where a strong contribution is made to Closing the Opportunity Gap objectives.
