Scottish Family Business Association
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the Scottish Family Business Association, a non-profit-making organisation run for and by business families; recognises the importance of family businesses to the Scottish economy in accounting for a staggering 85% of private enterprises in Scotland; recognises the challenges faced by family businesses which face a 67% risk of failing before reaching the second generation, and wishes the organisation well in its work to support family businesses in Scotland and key non-family employees in resolving the unique challenges that they face as well as maximising business and personal development opportunities.
