The motion

That the Parliament congratulates Culag Community Woodland Trust on the opening of its All-Abilities Path at Little Assynt, Sutherland; commends its vision to provide access for all people to enjoy the woodlands and go angling in the lochs; recognises the hard work by local people, including many volunteers, to raise funds and develop these facilities; welcomes the support of the many funders of the trust; believes that Culag Community Woodland Trust is a great example, demonstrating the social, health and economic as well as environmental benefits of community woodlands; notes that there are now over 100 community woodland organisations throughout Scotland, a national Community Woodlands Association and many thousands of people participating in and gaining from this movement, and urges the Scottish Executive to ensure that community woods are given more support for their important role in rural development.
