RMT Signallers' Dignity in Face of Management Intransigence
The motion
That the Parliament notes the decision of RMT union signal workers to go ahead with their 48-hour strike; acknowledges that this action has been forced on the signallers due to the intransigence of Network Rail management in Scotland and its failure to honour the spirit and intention of the signallers’ 35-hour week agreement, its abuse of rostering agreements and the carrying out of rule-book testing in signal boxes, despite a commitment not to; congratulates the RMT workers for the dignified way in which they have conducted themselves throughout this dispute, and calls on Network Rail management to resolve this dispute by honouring the spirit and intention of the signallers’ work agreements.
