Congratulations to WOZA
The motion
That the Parliament applauds the work of Women of Zimbabwe Arise (WOZA) in empowering Zimbabwean women with knowledge and skills designed to stimulate courageous activities within the community and to enable them to make independent decisions and actively participate in their communities’ development; notes that the current situation in Zimbabwe continues to deteriorate with hundreds of thousands going hungry and annual inflation running at 1,700%, the highest in the world; further notes the continual lack of human rights afforded to ordinary citizens as well as opposition activists, and congratulates WOZA on raising awareness about the issues in Zimbabwe and on supporting ordinary Zimbabweans to fight human rights abuses.
