Congratulations to Madras College
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Madras College, St Andrews, on making it to the final of the 2009 Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament on Thursday 11 June 2009 in the Parliament; notes that Madras College has a strong history in debating skills and that previous members of the school’s literary and debating society have included prominent academics, writers, actors and politicians; further congratulates the team members, Michael Weir and Alice Minnick, and also congratulates the other three secondary schools in the final, George Heriot’s School in Edinburgh, The Glasgow Academy and Mearns Castle High School, Renfrewshire.
