Bank of Scotland's Commitment to Scottish Athletics
The motion
That the Parliament recognises and commends Bank of Scotland for its support of Scottish youth athletes through its sponsorship of scottishathletics and BADMINTONscotland; acknowledges Bank of Scotland’s partnership with the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics games, which, it considers, shows the bank’s support for the success of Scottish athletes; considers that Bank of Scotland has made generous efforts in aiding Scottish youth athletes in their development right up to elite performer level; furthermore, praises Bank of Scotland’s commitment to increasing athletic participation in Scotland and understands that an estimated 10,000 young people will take part in badminton programmes associated with the sponsorship over the next 12 months, and, finally, congratulates Bank of Scotland on the Bank of Scotland International Championships in Badminton, which many consider to have emerged as the premier tournament on the badminton Europe circuit over the last 10 years.
