Queen's Award for Sparrows Offshore
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates Sparrows Offshore Group Limited on receiving the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in recognition of Sparrows more than trebling its exports in the last six years; notes that the business was founded in 1973 in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, where it is still headquartered, to serve the North Sea oil and gas industry and has grown into a global business; further notes that Sparrows is a significant contributor to the Aberdeen, Scottish and UK economies as one of north east Scotland’s 10 largest private sector employers, with nearly 1,000 people working for the company in Aberdeen and a further 1,500 abroad, and wishes the company every success for the future.
