Supporting Scotland’s Industrial Heritage
The motion
That the Parliament congratulates the Scottish Industrial Preservation Trust on what it considers to be its admirable efforts in protecting Scotland’s industrial heritage; believes that industrial preservation is important and notes with regret the amount of rare, unique and irreplaceable buildings, machinery and other items lost over decades of neglect; emphasises what it believes to be the need to promote an understanding of Scotland’s pivotal role in the industrial revolution; asks the Scottish Government to commit to improving the preservation of Scotland’s industrial heritage, and urges it to consider supporting the Scottish Industrial Preservation Trust in its ventures.
