Youth with Hope
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the non-profit, equal opportunities Youth with Hope campaign; notes that the campaign aims to inspire, motivate and encourage businesses and organisations across the UK to employ at least one young person to tackle youth unemployment; further notes research by ACEVO that estimates that, in 2012 alone, youth unemployment will have cost the Treasury £4.8 billion and the UK economy £10.7 billion in lost output; understands that the Youth with Hope concept promotes new job opportunities for young people, including modern apprenticeships and the cost-neutral creation of Green Champion posts; further understands that, since its launch in Glasgow in November 2012, Youth with Hope has created over 250 local jobs, and commends what it considers the ambitious plans of the Youth with Hope campaign and its supporters to roll out the initiative nationwide.
