Trussell Trust
The motion
That the Parliament commends the ongoing work by the Trussell Trust across Scotland and, in particular, in East and South Ayrshire, where it believes that it has ensured that almost 2,000 people in crisis have received food parcels since April 2013; understands that an agreement between the Trussell Trust and the Department for Work and Pensions in 2011 on referring clients to foodbanks has since broken down, and acknowledges the efforts of the trust to reinstate the agreement to guarantee that people in crisis are provided with the necessary information to seek assistance and support from local foodbanks.
