Fruitmarket Gallery Fundraising Campaign Launched with a Boost
The motion
That the Parliament notes the launch of a fundraising campaign aiming to raise a £6 million investment for the Fruitmarket Gallery in Edinburgh; understands that the gallery, which brings the work of some of the world’s best contemporary artists to Scotland, will be redeveloped to ensure that it retains its status as a world class home for art; welcomes an initial funding boost of £100,000 from Creative Scotland for the gallery, which will be followed by a further £1,400,000 subject to the submission of fully developed and consulted plans, a business case and planning permission, and supports the gallery in its plans for the future.
