Launch of the Friends of the Canongate Kirkyard
The motion
That the Parliament supports the establishment of the Friends of the Canongate Kirkyard, which, it understands, consists of a group of local residents who will work alongside voluntary groups to help maintain and improve the historic graveyard and will aim to encourage its use as a tourist destination; believes that this sets a good example to other groups that wish to improve their communities, and hopes that the Friends of the Canongate Kirkyard is successful in its efforts.
