Scotland Europa and Financial Instruments for SMEs
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the Scotland Europa programme on financial instruments as defined by the European Investment Fund (EIF); supports its plans as presented in Edinburgh in the week beginning 17 February 2014; acknowledges this as a start to present European funding and financial opportunities to support small businesses, and encourages the small business community, which, it understands, has shown a 19% increase in start-ups in the last year, to develop growth and employment plans and to understand and engage with the EIF-accredited bodies in Scotland to secure the incremental funding to allow them to do so.
