Congratulations to Dumfries and Galloway’s Business Awards Winners
The motion
That the Parliament notes that Dumfries and Galloway’s Annual Business Awards took place on 27 March 2014 at the Easterbrook Hall in Dumfries; understands that Dumfries and Galloway Chamber of Commerce, which organises the awards, received a record number of nominations for this year’s awards; notes that GTR won the Contracts for Outstanding Performing Business (over 25 employees) Award, ECO-GENICS Ltd won the Outstanding Performing Business (under 25 employees) Award, Church Court Dental Practice won the Excellence in Customer Service Award; Douglas Swan & Sons won the Family Business Award; ECO-GENICS Ltd won the Rural Enterprise Award, Kilnford Farm Retail won the Outstanding Champion of Local Food Award, Loch Arthur Creamery & Farm Shop won the Outstanding Social Enterprise Award, Cream O' Galloway won the Journey to Zero Waste Award and Ladderlimb and CIET(UK) Ltd were joint winners of the Most Promising New Business Award; also notes that Rachel Speedie was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year and that Eddie Black won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award; congratulates this year’s winners and finalists and wishes them well for the future, and considers the event a great advertisement for Dumfries and Galloway’s excellence and innovation in business.
