The motion

That the Parliament notes the official opening of Logan Botanic Garden’s new conservatory on 27 June 2014, which it believes to be the first in Britain to be heated entirely by renewable technology; acknowledges the support of the Monument Trust, Scottish Power’s Green Energy Trust, the Landfill Communities Trust Fund and South West Environmental Action Trust, which funded the project; notes that the technology to build the conservatory was provided by Alitex and that the building itself was built by 3B Construction; considers that the combination of good architectural design and modern technology has created an elegant and practical building that will enhance Logan Garden’s role as a significant visitor attraction for the Rhins of Galloway as well as contributing to the garden’s role as a repository of rare, tender plant species, and congratulates everyone involved with what it considers this important project.
