Welcome for City Deal
The motion
That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of the City Deal package, which it considers will provide a major boost to the economy of the west of Scotland; congratulates the west of Scotland councils that have co-operated to make this happen; further welcomes the contribution of the UK Government, which it believes will help to lever in substantial private sector investment; hopes that the Scottish Government will also contribute, and believes in particular that the financial contribution that will see a rail link to and from Glasgow Airport will help to consolidate Glasgow Airport’s role as a critical gateway to Scotland.
